if you were offended or seriously hurt by last week’s Arrow, don’t watch 3x02 live. don’t watch it on the CW website. if you have to know what happens, stream it on some other site or torrent it. make sure they know we are not here for their fridging.
…
Or you can respect the writers choice to move on from that character.
Maybe when they respect me as a female and a bisexual.
“Move on from that character.” That’s putting it mildly.
Here’s what “moving on” from a character looks like: having her go off with her assassin girlfriend after symbolically passing her mantle to her sister. Which, in case anyone has forgotten, is the precise thing they did literally one episode before they brought her back for no other reason than to kill her off.
There is “moving on,” and then there’s what we got, which was bringing back a character they’d already sufficiently written off just to have her murdered in a way that goes against everything they’d established about her previously, literally throwing her body into the trash, and in such a way that if you see the gif of that moment out of context it looks very much like it was intended to be a sight gag, and then having it somehow dragged across town and down a flight of stairs and then hoisted up onto a table by her buck-twenty-soaking-wet sister, and then literally shoved into a freezer, then given a secret burial in the middle of the night, without anyone telling her parents, or trying to contact her girlfriend, or the girl she saved and adopted as a little sister, so that she’s not even being mourned by most of the people who love her more than anything in the world.
Andrew Kreisberg called it a “love letter” to the character.
This episode wasn’t a love letter, it was bitter, vindictive, borderline psychotic break-up song.
But those are usually written by someone who has been dumped or betrayed, not by someone who decided they liked another woman better than the one they’re currently with, so I don’t know what the hell this was about, but someone somewhere has clearly got some issues of some sort that they need to deal with as soon as possible.
